Boarding policies:

The following is a summary of our boarding policies.  When you bring your pet in for boarding, you will be asked to sign a boarding consent form which explains these policies in detail.

bulletMultiple boarders:  We will gladly board as many pets as you wish; however, dogs must be boarded one dog per run.  This is due to the design of our runs and the limitation of only one food and water bowl per run.  Two cats may be boarded together in a large condo if one is available and the cats get along.  We reserve the right to refuse future visits in the case of extremely aggressive animals.

bulletVaccinations:  All pets must be current on Rabies, distemper, and Bordatella vaccines to be admitted to our kennel facility.  If your pets have been vaccinated elsewhere, proof of vaccination MUST be provided (required before coming in for boarding).  If vaccinations need to be done, we will gladly schedule a separate appointment with a doctor. It is recommended that vaccines be done 7-10 days before boarding so that there will be adequate immunity. If we have not seen your pet before, a brief exam will be done at the time of vaccines.  We strongly encourage that your dog is vaccinated for Bordatella (kennel cough) at least 2-3 days prior to their stay to insure full immunity.  If they are vaccinated for Bordatella the day they arrive, immunity cannot be guaranteed and they will still be susceptible to kennel cough.

bulletParasites:  If a pet is found to have external parasites such as fleas of ticks, it will be treated at the owner's expense.

bulletAdmitting and Discharging Boarders:  Boarders can be admitted and discharged during any of our normal office hours (Monday-Thursday 8-6, Friday 8-5, Saturday 9-1).  We are closed on Sundays and major holidays; however, boarders can be picked up immediately the next day.

bulletPayment/Release:  ALL CHARGES FOR BOARDING AND OTHER CHARGES ARE DUE WHEN YOUR PET IS RELEASED.  The pet will only be released to the owner.  If you plan to have someone else pick up your pet, we must be informed in advance.  For your convenience, you may pre-pay for your pet's stay when they are brought to the kennel.  Pre-payment is required for long-term boarders (over 2 weeks).

bulletPersonal Items:  We highly recommend that you leave items, such as blankets, leashes, and special toys at home because they may become lost or damaged.  If you do choose to leave items, THE KENNEL WILL NOT BE HELD LIABLE FOR LOST OR DAMAGED ITEMS.

bulletMedical Care:  When you sign the boarding consent form, you will also be consenting to emergency medical care in the event your pet becomes seriously ill.  Please leave us an emergency phone number where we can contact you and inform you of any situation.  You can be sure the veterinarians will provide the best care possible for our pet's condition.

bulletLong-Term Boarding:

A long-term boarder is any pet staying more than 14 nights.

There must be a scheduled exit date.  This is required so that we know when the space will be open for new reservations.  We are unable to schedule "open-ended" long-term boarders.

Payment for the total nights of boarding (from check-in date to scheduled exit date) must be made at the time the pet is checked in.  This can be paid in cash, check or credit card.  By providing a credit card number and expiration date, we can also bill your credit card at specified intervals if preferred (see below).

Please call us if you need to change the scheduled exit date.  We may be able to accommodate your request if the space is not reserved for someone else.  If the boarding is being extended for more than 7 additional nights, payment must be made in advance in order to extend the reservations.  Payment can be mailed to us in advance of the extension or a credit card number given over the phone.

If you make no attempt to contact us and the pet is not picked up on the scheduled exit date or if payment for an extension is not received, we will consider the pet abandoned: ownership of the pet has been surrendered to our clinic and we will do with the pet as we see fit.  For this reason it is of extreme importance that you contact us as soon as possible if you are unable to pick up the pet on the scheduled date.
