Mark Werner, DVM Dr.
Werner grew up in the Northfield area and then attended the University of Minnesota for
both his undergraduate and veterinary studies. He graduated from the U of MN College
of Veterinary Medicine in 1976 and then practiced primarily bovine medicine in southern
Minnesota for several years. He founded the
Cannon Valley Veterinary Clinic in 1980. A true "mixed animal"
practitioner, Dr. Werner now practices predominantly small-animal medicine as well as
exotic, bovine, and swine medicine. He is also interested in small-animal
acupuncture therapy and has attended certification training in this growing field.
Dr. Werner resides in the Northfield area with his wife. They
have 3 adult children.
They also have 3 dogs: Gunner, Penny, and Spike.

Michael Strobel, DVM (with Maggie) Dr. Strobel attended the University of Minnesota for undergraduate and
veterinary coursework, and graduated from the College of Veterinary Medicine in 1982.
He immediately joined the
Cannon Valley Veterinary Clinic, practicing small-animal and bovine medicine. In
recent years he has specialized in swine medicine. He also is an experienced
small-animal orthopedic surgeon and performs most of the clinic's orthopedic work.
He currently resides in the Northfield area with his wife, three children, and
their dog, Sunny.

Marcia Bisel, DVM Dr. Bisel grew up in the Shakopee, Minnesota area and attended St. Olaf
College in Northfield, receiving a biology degree. She also attended the U of MN
College of Veterinary Medicine, graduating in 1996. She joined the
Cannon Valley Veterinary Clinic and
practices small-animal medicine and surgery. She resides in the
Northfield area with her husband, one son, 3 cats, and 2 dogs.

Geoffrey Passe, DVM Dr. Passe
joined Cannon Valley Veterinary Clinic in June 2002. Dr. Passe grew up
in Wabasha, Minnesota and graduated from St. John's University in
Collegeville, Minnesota with a degree in natural science. He received
his degree in veterinary medicine from U of MN College of Veterinary
Medicine in May 2002, with a primary focus on companion animals. He
currently resides in the Northfield area with his cat, Salem. His
focus at CVVC is small animal medicine and surgery.

Rebecca Tollefson, DVM Dr.
Tollefson is the newest addition to the small animal veterinary staff,
having joined the clinic in May 2004.
Dr. Tollefson grew up in Massachusetts and graduated
from Duke University in North Carolina in 1989. After a varied
employment history she returned to school, taking pre-veterinary courses at
Carleton College and graduating from the U of MN College of Veterinary
Medicine in 2004.
Dr. Tollefson lives in Northfield with her husband, two
children, two dogs, and a cat.

Our Support Staff
The doctors at
Cannon Valley Veterinary Clinic, P.A. are very proud of our diverse and experienced staff.
Each staff member brings unique experiences and background, and this helps us to
provide high-quality service. No matter what their educational and career
background, each staff member meets the primary requirement of having a great love for
animals and an appreciation of the human-animal bond. We are very proud of our staff
and the important role they each play in our practice. |

Leah, CVT Leah started at CVVC in October of 1994. She has worked with both small and
large animals and currently is responsible for many of the day-to-day operations of our
swine practice, as well as being a small animal technician. Leah currently resides with her 3 cats. |

Carmen, CVT Carmen joined CVVC in 1998. She has a
wide variety of responsibilities at our clinic including assisting with our large animal
business, helping with small animal appointments and also managing our boarding
kennel. She lives with her husband, one son, and 3 cats. |
 |
Tammy, CVT Tammy joined CVVC in 1991 and has worked in both small and large animal aspects
of the practice. She is currently our surgery technician and also assists with
appointments. She also is responsible for ordering small-animal foods and products. |

Sue, Dental Assistant
Sue worked in the dental field for over 10 years and then decided to add
veterinary care to her career. She joined CVVC in 1991, working as
both a small-animal technician and as a dental specialist.
Currently Sue provides much of our small animal dental care, from dental
evaluations, tooth scaling, polishing, and assisting with extractions.
She lives with her daughter, 1 dog and 4
cats. |

Melanie, CVT Melanie became part
of the CVVC team in November of 2000. She is originally from the Albert
Lea, Minnesota area. Melanie works almost exclusively in our swine
practice, purchasing and delivering products to local swine operations.
She also is a small animal technician. Melanie owns the most unique
pet of our staff: a hedgehog named Xena! |

Ann, Receptionist Ann was a
long-time client at our clinic before joining our staff in January 2003.
She is our primary receptionist and handles most phone calls and scheduling
as well as a wide variety of duties. At one time Ann was a breeder of
British Shorthair cats and now owns four cats and one dog. She resides
with her husband, two sons, and a daughter. |
